Volunteers Orientation Day 3rd Feb 2012

Volunteers Orientation Day

Little Haven Centre, 14 Henry Street Gympie
Friday 3rd February 10am – 3pm

On Friday, 3rd February 2012 Little Haven will host an Orientation Day for new volunteers from 10 am to 3 pm.

Many individuals contribute to the Little Haven Team and volunteers play an important role. Patient care volunteers work closely with our staff to offer respite care at home for families.

Training courses are held quarterly and cover topics pertinent to being volunteers in palliative care. Volunteers assist with Respite care, office work, updating the library and handyman tasks, or help promote Little Haven through fundraising and social activities.

We will start at 10 am with a tour and introduction to Little Haven including our history, values, vision and the extent of our services. We will also discuss what being a volunteer means, the different streams of volunteers activity at Little Haven, and how volunteering can make a difference in your community.

A Shared plate lunch is a great way to get to know each other. Many volunteers have formed strong bonds with other volunteers in their orientation course.
