Position Responsible to: Clinical Coordinator
Frequency of Role Review: 3 Months Probationary then at least annually
Status: Level 1 or level 2 PP 1-8 RN Award 2020 (Relevant to recent clinical experience)
Min 48 hr / fortnight (with on-call and weekend component)
POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of palliative care and cancer support services to clients and families within the Cooloola Sunshine Coast area, both within the home of the client, the Centre and other service provider venues.
Little Haven Palliative Care provides compassionate, caring and professional palliative care to incurably ill individuals, their families and friends in the place of their choice. THE NATURE OF THIS ORGANISATION
Little Haven Palliative Care Inc is a registered Not-For-Profit Charity and has Public Benevolent Institution status. It is governed by a Board of Directors. The Business Manager of Little Haven is responsible for the overall management of the Service and reports to the Board.
Little Haven Palliative Care is a specialist community based palliative care service operating in the Sunshine Coast area of Queensland. The service seeks to improve the ability of our community to support people facing terminal illness, grief and bereavement. It includes a specialist home care team that offers support to individuals facing terminal illness and their families supporting people’s choice to die in their own home with their loved ones around them and optimising quality of life. It also includes bereavement support and enhancing community capacity through education about palliative care, death, and dying, and loss and grief.
Little Haven is a dedicated to providing relief from pain and suffering and is a member of Palliative Care Qld and Palliative Care Australia.
The position of Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse is based in the Little Haven Palliative Care office. The office is conducive to a relaxed, informal working environment for staff and volunteers.
