Little Haven Week 2018

July 15th – July 22nd

Each year Little Haven Palliative Care and Cancer Support celebrates our proud service to the Gympie community providing the best model of dignified end of life care for the terminally ill, support for chemotherapy patients and counselling and follow up for the bereaved. 2018 represents 39 years of developing compassionate care of the dying in the Gympie and surrounding regions. Little Haven Week celebrates our history, our model of care and serves to highlight our need for continuous fundraising, to ensure our important service meets the increasing demand for our care, as the gap in Qld Health funding continues to widen.

It’s only through the compassion and generosity of our community Little Haven are able to provide dignified end of life care for all who need it and for that we are grateful. So what better way to kick off Little Haven Week than to join us on The 2018 Gratitude Walk and Fun Run.

The Little Haven Gratitude Walk and Fun Run is on Sunday 15th July

 Online Registration NOW OPEN!

We experience blessings in tragedy as well as joy. In this spirit, we invite you to join us on our “gratitude walk” honouring our patients and families and offering thanks to a community that supports caring for the terminally ill so they may enjoy the best and longest possible quality end of life. Whether your pace is slow or aerobic in cadence come along and enjoy the pleasure of movement, the warmth of Gympie’s winter and our beautiful Mary… Reflecting on life’s gifts.

Little Havens Annual Memorial Service – Sunday July 22nd 2018 – Commencing at 2pm at The Wesleyan Methodist Church, Exhibition Road, Gympie. Service followed by releasing of doves and afternoon tea.

The annual Little Haven Memorial Service provides a chance to reflect on the memory of loved ones and for us to pay tribute to the patients we have cared for and lost over the past year. All family, friends, relatives and health professionals are invited to join the Little Haven staff and volunteers at this peaceful, non denominational service of remembrance – the culmination of Little Haven Week 2018

Friends and families of people who have been supported by Little Haven are encouraged to take part in the service by placing a flower in the memorial vase or by lighting a candle in memory of their loved one. This gathering provides a space for quiet reflection, acknowledgement of loss and consolidation of hope.
