Today is the first day of a new beginning for Carolyn, who left Gympie this morning heading to Charleville and her new role as Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Coordinator with South West Health Qld. Carolyn was with Little Haven for 16+ years starting as a registered nurse, then clinical nurse and then taking on the Clinical Coordinator baton from Bronwyn a couple of years ago.
During this time we have cared for over 2500 palliative patients. That’s a lot of love (and sadness) for any nurse and especially someone with a big open heart like Carolyn. Carolyn has been a wonderful support to so many of those families over the years and has been an excellent example and great mentor to our nurses. Little Haven would not be what it is today without her can do and how can we help approach.
She will be missed by all here and a great benefit wherever she shares her knowledge. The lessons learned at Little Haven of how to give with an open heart and deliver gold standard community based palliative care, will put her in good stead in any nursing roles in the future. Our loss will be Charlevilles gain for the time being.
We wish Carolyn Godspeed with her travels and all the very best of luck with her new and exciting venture in rural nursing.
A message from Carolyn ….
I’m heading off in the morning on my big adventure. Thank you everyone for your kind words, inspiring cards, and wonderful gifts. It has been the hardest thing to make the decision to pack up and make a change so I’m eternally grateful for the support, love and friendship you have all shown me.
I’ve made this little video from some old photos I had.
