Congratulations to Little Haven volunteer Ailsa Smith on her Qouta Woman of the Year Award received yesterday in recognition of many long years of service to others.
Ailsa is testament to volunteering keeps you healthy having been very actively involved in Lions projects in NZ all her adult life before joining Little Haven in 2005. How lucky are we to have Ailsa’s willing help ever since. A mean scone maker, shop helper, sewer, relish supplier, rag seller for local mechanics and a support volunteer for isolated elderly ….the list is impressive.
Thank you to Anne and Dorothy for organising the surprise of Ailsa’s family coming along for the ceremony. With family members coming from all corners of the country it is plain Ailsa is not just a wonderful community volunteer but also a much loved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother (“duck, duck”).
Thank you Gympie Quota club for recognition of Ailsa’s contributions and for all the support you give to Little Haven all year and for the $2000 presented for our nursing care yesterday.
