Little Haven is looking for a senior administration officer superstar to join our highly respected team. Immediate start! This is a senior position within the organisation (0.8 FTE).

The position has above award rate remuneration with salary sacrifice options and flexible working conditions. As per Qhealth Mandate for Health Care organisations applicants must provide proof of double dose Covid vaccination status.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title:    Senior Administration Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to ensure that Little Haven Palliative Care is compliant with all non-clinical legislation, to maintain effective resource management, information management and book keeping systems, and to oversee the administrative support officer’s duties.

Little Haven Palliative Care provides compassionate, caring and professional palliative care to incurably ill individuals, their families and carers in the place of their choice. Providing support in their place of choice to live, die and grieve well.

THE NATURE OF THIS ORGANISATION

Little Haven Palliative Care Inc. is a Registered Not-For-Profit Charity and has Public Benevolent Institution status. It is governed by an elected Board with the CEO responsible for the overall management of the organisation.

Little Haven is a specialist community based palliative care service operating in the Gympie and surrounding region. The service seeks to improve the ability of our community to support people facing terminal illness, grief and bereavement.  It includes a specialist home care team that offers support to individuals facing terminal illness and their families optimising quality of life and supporting people’s choice to die in their own home with their loved ones around them.

Bereavement support is an important aspect of our care circle and enhancing community capacity through education about palliative care, death and dying, loss and grief.

Based at Little Haven’s Office 14 Henry Street, Gympie. Little Haven is committed to creating a supportive, inclusive and participative working environment for staff.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

General responsibilities of this senior role include:

Specific responsibilities of the role include:

  • Meet legislative requirements of Little Haven Palliative Care Inc. including ATO, Wages and conditions, coordinating the annual audit; meeting financial reporting requirements for the Board; Workcover and Insurances Certificate of Currency ; salary award review.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, and manage receipts and payment schedules.
  • Negotiate, monitor and renew purchasing arrangements.
  • Provide accurate reports by requested deadlines.
  • Ensure effective, efficient functioning of office systems, processes and equipment.
  • Oversee WH&S policy adherence within the Little Haven service
  • Adhere and contribute to Little Haven safety and quality management system
  • Maintain accurate HR records for all staff

ROLE COMPETENCIES

  • Advanced computer skills including desktop publishing programs, Microsoft Office and M.Y.O.B
  • Advanced knowledge of Bookkeeping;
  • Sound knowledge of payroll, superannuation, salary packaging and FBT or the ability to acquire competency;
  • Above average interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Sound organisational and time management skills.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Direct accountability is to the CEO and to the Board.

Indirect accountability is to:

  • The clients of Little Haven and their families
  • Staff members and volunteers forming the Little Haven Team team
  • The community generally.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Work to the Terms and Conditions of the Administration Award – Private Sector
  • Work to and abide by the policies and procedures of Little Haven Palliative Care Inc.
  • Agree to and sign Little Havens Code of Conduct & Confidentiality Agreement.
  • A probationary period of 3 months that includes a progress formative appraisal.
  • Seek permission from CEO to work outside normal working hours.
  • Participate in annual position formative appraisal.
